As part of the annual Waterkant Festival, Young Waterkant Festival has been taking place since 2018, with a special focus on schools and pupils. Facing the challenges of a pandemic, the Young Waterkant 2021 runs as an event series throughout the summer with various formats looking at the future of our cities.
The Young Waterkant Summer program starts on 15th June from 10-11.30 am with a digital event. Exciting 90 minutes with inspiring speakers and a practical part about the city of tomorrow await the school classes. Together we want to talk about the challenges and opportunities and work out our own visions.
We will continue this journey during the summer holidays with our SEEd rally "Future of Kiel". In July, all pupils and interested people will have the opportunity to get to know exciting and future-oriented places in Kiel's city centre, either alone or in small groups, and to exchange ideas with future makers, creative people and initiatives.
The Young Waterkant Summer will be rounded off after the summer holidays with special SEEd workshops for school classes on the MFG5 grounds. On the old Bundeswehr grounds and in the midst of the interactive waterkant exhibition, the ideal ambience is created to think about the future of cities and to develop your own ideas.
